LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech students are working hard and placing in competitions for Wool Judging across the nation.
In the fall, 60 freshmen students signed up for the class on wool judging. Within a few weeks, grad students and team coaches Anna Wyle and Kade Miller selected the top 16 students to form the 2025 Wool Judging team.
The team practices 3 days a week, 4 to 8 hours a day. They have attended competitions in Laramie, Wyoming and Denver, Colorado, where they placed second at both. They are currently preparing for their next competitions at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and the national competition at the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo.
Team members, Grayson Downs, Brooke Reininger, Stratton Schertz and Cooper Mau, all agree that being a part of this team has brought them bonds and lessons they'll carry for a lifetime. They look forward to pursuing careers in the agricultural field and the medical field.
