LUBBOCK, Texas – The Ranch Horse Team shined at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, and now they're preparing for nationals.
The Texas Tech Ranch Horse Team returned to Lubbock last week after earning the championship title in the Bridles and Brains Competition at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The competition consists of six events that demonstrate horsemanship and communication skills.
Most of the team has grown up around horses, but some never showed their horse until they came to Tech. Their training has grown their skills and prepared them to take on a career in the equine industry.
All the team members spend their time outside of class training and caring for their horses. The ultimate goal is to win the national competition in April in Amarillo.
